Before the Goddess of the Underworld, before the Dread Queen, there was Kore.
Kore, the youngest daughter of Demeter, is caught between two worlds. Her mother teaches duty and secrecy, hiding her powers away from the other gods. But as Kore grows into her power, she finds solace and freedom in visits from the feared and hated King of the Dead, her Aidoneus. When the struggles of Olympus threaten the tenuous balance of her world, Kore flees to the Underworld in search of sanctuary.
When her journey turns into a fight for survival facing monstrous shades and vengeful gods, Kore also discovers that the underworld is full of wonderous possibility. Can she break through the dark and reach the heart of its King?
He claims there is no place for love among the dead.
