Charley Montgomery knew that putting her hope in her father's "prize fighter" wasn't her best option, but it was her only one. Her father managed up-and-coming boxers and when JB Walker started losing fights, trouble landed on their doorstep. Men seemed to get a little nasty when a lot of money was on the line, and she was quickly learning that her choices were to either take a beating or learn to fight. Who better to show her how to throw a punch than JB? Her only question was-could she trust that he wouldn't turn her over to the men coming for them, just to save his little sister's life.
JB Walker was on the losing streak of his life-and that was an understatement. When he started losing fights, the bookie that got him his gigs lost patience along with his money. When they came for his little sister, promising to auction her off to the highest bidder, he had no choice but to hide her away. He just never imagined that they'd go after his manager, Dean, and his daughter, Charley. Now, he had to make good on his promise to not only keep his sister safe but Charley too. He owed that and so much more to Dean, he couldn't let the man who had become more than just his manager down, even if that meant involving his brothers in the Royal Bastards.
