Brightly soulful and deeply rooted, The Body Oracle Deck is a somatic invitation to awe and wonder, a homecoming to nature and the body, and an antidote to despair.
Includes 80 lushly illustrated cards with original collage art, body-based exercises, and an accompanying guidebook
Written by Abigail Rose Clarke (Returning Home to Our Bodies) and illustrated by Amy Salomone, this deck opens our awareness to a profound and powerful truth: our bodies are miracles.
Created to help you connect to the innate and beautiful wisdom of your body-and to the living world to which we each belong-The Body Oracle Deck is an invitation into embodied resistance against disembodiment and cynicism. It helps us awaken to ourselves and our senses so we can awaken to the world-and stay present and engaged even through heartbreak and hopelessness. Structured in four sections, Clarke guides us through four dimensions of embodied knowing:
• "Awe": tiny stories of our beginnings-as stardust, as kin-that open us to a greater sense of wonder
• "Curiosity": meditations on safety, change, intuition, and belief-that are meant to change and evolve as you do
• "Possibilities": breath, movement, and imaginative engagement with your body
• "Oracle": the body's wisdom on vitality, reciprocity, and integration
Muscle and blood, belly and bone, our bodies move and connect more like ecosystems than machines. This deck offers a path home to this truth-and a conduit to the precious, singular experiences and sensations that make up what it means to be vital, embodied, and fully alive. Abigail Rose Clarke is a somatic facilitator from Newton, MA. Clarke helps people return to a comfortable relationship with their bodies. She teaches that people can use the inherent wisdom of their bodies to be in direct conversation with creativity and aliveness to dismantle oppressive systems and build generative and deeply relational futures. She utilizes somatics and mindfulness. Clarke works with people ranging from CEOs and Board Directors to schoolteachers and parents. She holds a weekly somatic learning space called Anchor Continuum. Clarke is the creator of The Somatic Tarot, a method of engaging with the archetype Tarot in ways rooted in liberatory practices, as a guide to a healing future. Her work is enormously influenced by her study and practice of Embodyoga®, of which she is a senior teacher, as well as her background in kinesiology and psychology. NAB author of Returning Home to Our Bodies.
Amy Salomone of "Forms Most Beautiful" is a mixed media digital collage artist combining her extensive background in science and art to create works that explore man's place in the natural world. Her educational and professional background in science is evident in her work which communicates concepts such as evolution and natural selection, animal behavior, the limitations of human perception and our story within a larger cosmological and biological story. Each piece is designed to tell a part of that story and to act as a starting point through which we begin to see ourselves from a different vantage point. Amy largely works with digital collage and ephemera, but also incorporates personal illustrations, photography and at times microscope observations into her work.
