Perhaps you dream of becoming an author-of holding a book with your name on the cover, sharing your ideas with the world, and creating a career and lifestyle around something you genuinely love. That was my dream too. My name is Fiona Ferris, and five years ago I began educating myself about writing, publishing and the business of being an author. Within two years, I had built a self-supporting work-from-home author business. Today, I continue to write and self-publish the books I love, while enjoying the freedom and flexibility that this career brings. In The Chic Author, I share everything I've learned along the way, including how to: • Find ideas for books people will want to read • Make time to write, even when life is busy • Set motivating goals and create your own author dream • Structure and write your book quickly • Move past fear, perfectionism and self-doubt • Edit your manuscript and create a beautiful book cover • Format your book and prepare it for publication • Understand the difference between traditional publishing and self-publishing • Price and publish your book for success • Market your books without spending a fortune • Build readership through blogging and social media • And most importantly, start thinking and showing up as the author you want to become Being an author isn't only about writing books. It's about creating a life that gives you the freedom to do more of what you love. If you've ever imagined yourself as an author, The Chic Author will help you turn that fantasy into a real possibility-and give you practical ideas for getting started.
