About
This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
Doug Hollister has learned a few things on his family's year-long world
tour. In Delhi, he became an internet sensation after ordering the
spiciest curry he could find. In Tokyo, he survived a toilet that nearly
launched him into orbit. In Greece, he learned that asking for
directions is sometimes wiser than pretending to know the way.
Now the Hollisters have arrived in Rome-and Doug has a new plan: take
things slowly, ask for help, and absolutely not rent a scooter. At
least, that is what his wife, Jen, hopes.
Rome has other ideas. Between crowded streets, a city full of scooters,
unexpected detours, and a parade of helpful strangers who all have
different directions to offer, Doug finds himself swept into the
glorious chaos of the Eternal City. Meanwhile, Jen is quietly wondering
whether Doug will remember their twentieth wedding anniversary without
being reminded. Their children, Madison and Max, discover their own
Roman adventures, while Bev-Doug's seventy-four-year-old mother-forms an
unlikely bond with the formidable Signora Lucia and carries a treasured
Greek moussaka dish into a new chapter of her life.
As the family explores ancient landmarks, lively piazzas, and the people
who make Rome unforgettable, the trip becomes about more than
sightseeing. It becomes a story of marriage, family, memory, friendship,
and learning when to let go.
Warm, witty, and full of affectionate family mishaps, The Hollisters
Take Rome is a feel-good travel comedy about finding your way-even when
every road leads somewhere unexpected. Join the Hollisters for the next
hilarious stop on their world tour!
