Walking the road of the straight and narrow is known for both blessings and miracles as well as hardships and sacrifices. Jonathan Edwards lovingly expresses the ways in which God's children must put aside selfish desires and reactions when injured or experiencing hardships in life. To humbly and maturely respond to the difficulties in life is a fruit of the Spirit and a light to unbelievers. Edwards explains in great detail how and why Christians must respond in such a way to injury and mistreatment. He reveals how it not only exposes the goodness of God to the nonbeliever, but how it also strengthens and empowers faith in the believer who has exercised this humility.
