About

Blossom: Unfolding the Heart, is a poetry book about delving deeper into the feelings that have become normalized and ignored. It's common to acknowledge a feeling, thinking it will go away; but sometimes it never does. This poetry book also goes deep into the struggle to be Black in America in this day and age, and we still have a lot of work to do. To sit and listen to what your mind is telling you is way more important than playing it cool. In Blossom, I hope to show teens and young adults that you can have feelings about situations and you do not always have to fit a perfect mold of what society wants. I hope Blossom makes you smile, laugh, think, feel appreciated, look at the world a little more clearly, and even understand why some other people act the way they do.
