U.S. Naval LCDR Gabriel Foster has been through many struggles in his life. Long deployments, dangerous operations, and limited communication have placed a strain on his family. The demands of the military have caused him to separate from his wife, Sara, and he has to communicate with his daughter, Addison, from long distances.
Gabriel is a reconnaissance pilot who commands a small crew, co-pilot LCDR Calvin Aldridge, and Aircrewman Second-Class (AW2) Anthony Sano. The men have been through several spontaneous operations together, but nothing could prepare them for the newest assignment. They must fly to the dark region of the Arctic Sea and investigate a stress signal coming from a lonely cargo ship located near the Komsomolets Island.
When Gabriel arrives to his destination, the airship is hit with a highly advanced weapon. The sailors accept their fate, but an unexplainable phenomenon allows a window of opportunity to escape.
