Xuanzang and his disciples lodged at Baolin Temple for a night during which Xuanzang met the ghost of the king of the Wuji Kingdom, who died three years ago, in a dream. The king told Xuanzang that he was framed and murdered by a demon and begged Xuanzang to tell the prince the truth the next day. He disappeared after leaving a jade plate for Xuanzang. Upon awakening from the dream, Xuanzang told his disciples the story. The next day the monkey transformed into a white rabbit tolure the prince to the temple. At night, the monkey and Pigsy retrieved the king's body from a well in the imperial garden and brought him back to life. The monkey led the real king to the palace. Upon seeing his cover blown, the demon fled immediately. Finally, the demon was subdued with the help of Wenshu Bodhisattva.
