About
Tegids are supposed to be invincible. But Chiara isn't.
At thirteen, she was diagnosed "Stunted," expelled from Belkar Acrobatics Academy, and forbidden from continuing her career as a flier in a duo trapeze act with her brother Isak.
Undeterred, they kept practicing in secret - but all their efforts came to a tragic end when a sudden fire took Isak's life and left Chiara permanently scarred. She's lived in hiding ever since, haunted by a past she can't erase as she hides her scars from the rest of the world.
Until now.
Three years after Isak's death, the fires are burning far closer to home - and they aren't an accident. Fighting the flames is Cirque du Fhír, the circus-espionage ring sworn to put an end to the arsonists' terror.
Determined to find out the truth about Isak, Chiara joins Fhír as their new flier and swears her loyalty to their mission...but her second chance at life quickly plunges her into a deadly game of cat-and-mouse, a balancing act that takes her right back into the flames. And the truth might just be deadly enough to burn her alive...
