Afghanistan was a long haul from Sgt. George Oliver "GO" Pheifer's hometown in Western New York. He had joined the United States Army before finishing college as he tried to find a definitive track for his life. But his army career was cut short during an attack on his outpost in Afghanistan. Severely wounded, he would join the ranks of veterans trying to overcome the physical and mental wounds endured by those scarred in battle. With the help of Benny, an intuitive prosthetist, and Chad, a fellow amputee, he found a new track for his life's work in working on and teaching students about wooden boats. After finding a mysterious map in an old boat, GO became entrenched in the intrigue and FBI interest surrounding the map. All this while he was finding love along the way.
