Chinese Cavalry

Amidst the vast expanse of green fields stretching across Hebei, Shandong, and Henan provinces, there once roamed a cavalry unit known as the "Chinese Cossacks." They were the 129th Cavalry Regiment of the Eighth Route Army.This unit distinguished itself in the anti-Japanese war with numerous heroic deeds: night raids on Yangmingbao, ambushes at Qizhen Village, battles at Shentouling, intercepting enemy forces at Changle Village, advancing into the Jinan Plain, luring the enemy into an ambush at Xiangchenggu, fierce battles on the Baijin and Zhengtai Roads, attacking Nanguan, fighting at Yuliao, and engaging in intense combat at Guanjiaowan. They also opened up the Taiyue and Zhongtiao Mountain anti-Japanese bases......until they finally drove the Japanese invaders out. At the National Day military parade in 1952, they rode majestic horses, brandished their sabers, and proudly declared to the world that Chinese cavalry could match the Cossacks!
