About

Lifestyle diseases kill more people than anything else.Generalised sickness and disability is more prevalent than ever.Heart disease, stroke, pulmonary diseases, diabetes, Alzheimer's/dementia, (lung and stomach) cancer and hypertension – of the top ten causes of death these eight are directly related to lifestyle. If it wasn't for infections and road traffic accidents everything that makes you ill, stops you feeling 100%, shortens your life and ultimately makes you die younger than you should – is down to you.Unfortunately, these lifestyle diseases are becoming more common, increasing in their severity and causing more suffering and ill health with each passing year. But they can be stopped.By making simple, small, changes you can prevent them – and this book is going to share with you those strategies. You should know most of the information in this book already, however common sense and common practice are not the same. Knowing something and implementing it are two very different things. This book will be your little nudge, your gentle reminder to make those changes so you can start to heal yourself……so you can live longer and with more health and vitality than you previously thought possible. Steffan H. Abel D.C. graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 1990 and for the next 32 ran his own successful private practice in the North East of England.Having parents who were both teachers and lecturers led him to developing both an open and enquiring mind. Establishing his clinic gave him a tremendous and vested interest in trying to find and combine the best healing techniques so he could offer the ultimate treatment to his patients and help as many people as possible. To that end he has studied Hypnotherapy, N.L.P. and qualified as a Life Coach as well as learning energy therapies such as Seichem and Reiki. He has also studied various Chiropractic and soft tissue-based treatments (gaining an M.Sc. in post graduate Clinical Chiropractic in 2003) and in 2001 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Chiropractors and a Fellow of the Association of Osteomyology and in 2007 became a Fellow of the European Academy of Chiropractic. In his spare time he spends around 25 hours per week researching all areas of "alternative" and allopathic healthcare in order to bring the best advice to his patients (and random people he stops in the street) and through his writing where he hopes to reach and help a larger number of people. When not working he is to be found enjoying life with his partner – whom he loves tremendously!
