Death: The Beginning of Life is a book about dying - old beliefs, old attitudes, old yous. Parts of my ego died while writing this book. And, parts of your ego may die while reading it. Topics include: The Inner Journey, Depth of Experience, Consciousness, Relationships, Psychopathic Society, The Choice, Shadow, The Perilous Journey, The Battle, Saving the World, Solitude, Slowing Down, On Dying, and The Daffodil. "Happiness is not the goal of the Self, consciousness is." "Naturally, there are dramatic emotional releases ... but somehow the core of the person remains untouched." "Even given an informed choice between good and evil, certain people will choose the evil path." "The punk-rock philosophy of nihilism is a generational reaction to the hippie philosophy of love. Loving everyone indiscriminately denies the shadow side of life." "If a person is undergoing a psychological birth and death phase... he may seek solitude." "Now these meditators are on to greater enlightenment and gas-saving ecological-mindedness, national flying (levitation) competitions. Just think, airlines will become obsolete if this catches on." "Parts of your personality are forced to die so that other parts can be born." "This woman had a beautiful image in a dream that went along with her change in consciousness. 'I am walking to a place where people are building onto an already large older home. A new road is being put into the house. The dirt is very dark, black, and soft. I am almost afraid of falling in. Will the earth hold my weight? I can feel the earth breathing.'"
