They're going to kill us all. Using astral projection, Xana Lambros breaks free from the confines of the elite Academy in San Francisco, discovering an outside world far darker, more dangerous than anything she could have imagined. Extraterrestrial reptiles control the earth, having annihilated most of humanity. All survivors outside the Academy are doomed to short lives of slave labor, addicted to a strange drug called VitaNova. To her horror, Xana learns that her younger sister, Emily, is confined in a brutal work camp hundreds of miles away. Determined to rescue Emily, Xana enlists the aid of her friends, including the charismatic, mysterious Trick Malone. Once her sister is safe, they will turn their attention to a new goal: creating a resistance force to defeat the aliens and take back the earth.
