Kris was living a normal life of a twenty-three-year-old: travelling the world, falling in love, making plans.
However, when she found a lump in her breast and was told that it was not only cancer, but also incurable, life took on a completely new meaning. Yet little did she know, cancer would lead her to a life she never thought possible: a happy one.
Alarmed by the lack of resources available, Kris and her twin sister, Maren, established CoppaFeel!, a vital charity that educates young people on breast cancer and recognising its early signs. From visiting Downing Street and campaigning at festivals, to appearing on TV and being present at the birth of her nephew, Kris has become a testament to embracing life—and everything it holds—with resilience and joy.
Honest and filled with her infectious sense of humour, Glittering a Turd is more than just a cancer memoir; it's a powerful reminder of what it means to live fully, shining a new perspective on terminal illness and surviving life's hardest moments.
This updated edition includes new material by Maren in memory of her sister, Kris.
Glittering a Turd is an enduring legacy of living with tenacity and light, even amidst life's t*rd - whatever that may be for each of us.
