From coal country to Jungle City, the inner battle between good and evil is waged within every heart. This is a debut collection of three short stories featuring three diverse male protagonists, alike in that each has been harshly awakened to the imperfection of the human experience. In Life Savings, Brian Ojimba is a British university student who leaves school to search out a Nigerian scammer who defrauded his grandmother. A young boy he meets on his journey leads him to question his own objectives. The Hand of Grace introduces Robert, the captain of a Great Lakes fishing trawler, who is haunted by memories reawakened by the birth of his first child. In God's Country, Thomas McCann, proprietor of AnthraSight Seeing Tours, has the responsibility of leading his customers safely through the abandoned mines where his father worked as a coal miner. But in the dark forests and lonely ghost towns of Pennsylvania's anthracite coal region, getting lost isn't the only danger.
