About

In the spring of 2025, ten years after being told I was legally blind, I was invited to be one of the artists participating in an inspirational journey- the Stations of the Cross.
This, however wasn't a traditional interpretation of this ancient theme-it included other elements designed to make the viewers think and allow God to speak through art. I was assigned to paint the "Good Shepherd".
As I researched shepherds, I became aware that there were six other instances in the Gospel of John where Jesus said of Himself "I AM", following after God's statement to Moses - I AM who I AM.

Jesus said:
"I AM the Door"
"I AM the Light of the World"
"I AM the True Vine"
"I AM the Good Shepherd"
"I AM the Bread of Life"
"I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life"
"I AM the Resurrection and the Life"

I decided to do paintings based on all seven "I AM" statements in the Gospel of John.
The result is the "I AM Project", which includes all seven images and my thoughts while creating them.
