From "A Scooter Dork on His Way to Nowhere" to "Female Football with Very Little Padding (Except Silicone)" I SEEM TO HAVE MISPLACED MY MARBLES is a fun, fearless and funky collection of the popular Saturday morning newspaper humor columns called "Hay's Daze". For author Harley Hay, no topic is taboo, no subject is without a smidgen of silly, and it's no time like the present for a nice nap. With an infectious joie de vivre, and a wordsmith savoir faire, and several other fancy sounding French expressions, the author – a baby boomer with no intention of ever growing up – brings his stories of his Better Half, Rotten Kids and Scamp the Deranged Shih Tzu to life in a way that promises to hit a surprisingly fun and familiar note with readers of all stripes. And polka dots. Often bitter-sweet and occasionally imminently amusing, the columns and cartoons in "MARBLES" explore the range of life's every-day rewards and challenges – from Cola addiction to Drive-In theatres, from an unforgettable Paul McCartney concert to the horrors of a pathological public sneezing fit, from dental crowns, crocodiles and maple syrup to frozen puddles, furtlings and paraprosdokians, I SEEM TO HAVE MISPLACED MY MARBLES is a book with a whole bunch of words, a lot of sentences, and many paragraphs. Most of which are in just the right order.
