I'm Surely Not Crazy is about the devastating disease of dementia. Sooner or later, everyone will be affected by it. It affects friends, close family, acquaintances, or perhaps even yourself. But the book is first and foremost about love between people. Those who lack love have nothing.
Part of the book takes place in the nursing home where Ab's mother lives. His mother is 94 and suffers from vascular dementia. But besides her, there are others in the nursing home who still find joy in life. There are also stories of residents from the most diverse backgrounds. Fascinating stories, wonderful characters. Another recurring character is Ab's wife. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at a young age and still lives at home. Ab hopes to keep it that way for a while longer.
