Liquids and Solids

How do we know if a substance is a liquid? What properties make an object a solid? How do liquids and solids behave? And can we change their properties by heating or cooling them? Using everyday items that kids can easily find around their homes, young students will get the chance to become real-life scientists and carry out step-by-step experiments to answer these intriguing questions. Along the way, the young scientists will be making observations, recording them, and drawing conclusions. Liquids and Solids includes at least seven experiments with detailed, age-appropriate instructions, great facts and background information, a "Conclusions" section to pull all the concepts investigated in the book together, and a glossary of science words. Colorful, dynamic designs and images truly put the FUN into FUN-damental Experiments!
