Caylie is 15 and about to get her driver's license when she discovers that her father used to own an old Austin-Healey 3000 sports car. She thinks that finding his old car would be a great 50th birthday present for her dad and sets out to track down his old car and bring it back to life. What was to be an ordinary summer turns into days full of tinkering, fixing, repairing, and rebuilding old sports cars, aided by a kind but particular mechanic, who not only shows her the intricacies of car repair, but gives her a series of driving lessons on back roads and empty parking lots, far from the cares of highschool life.
