Trish Reed an aspiring, deaf artist buys the old house in picturesque Martha's Vineyard offering romance, inspiration and mystery. She is facing moving away from her roommate and dearest friend, the end of a relationship with the man she thought she loved, and growing in ways she did not expect. The house seems to draw her to it, and quickly reveals a mysterious drawing hidden in the attic with a message which only few people could understand; Trish can read it almost immediately but can't decipher the underlying meaning. The image leads her on a treasure hunt for personal fortune, a search for answers to her own aspirations, love and trust for those in the hearing world.Trish uncovers a trail of clues to the mystery of the house and the family who parallel her struggles to grow personally and professionally in a silent world. She is engrossed by the clues the former resident furtively left for the right person who would identify with and have the fortitude to uncover the mystery that no one knew existed. Trish battles to determine if there is a mystery to resolve and is she patient enough to unravel the clues few people would have recognized. She finds help in her fateful meeting of the popular bachelor, Kevin Sanders, lifetime island resident who works at the local art gallery. The mother to two young men; our experiences with family and friends have rekindled a passion to put stories to paper. This story is inspired by the beauty of sign language introduced to me by my deaf niece.This is my third novel, following numerous short stories. I am currently drafting the second part of this series; taking a step back in time during WWII and the romance between Richard and Carolyn Moeller. I have been a member of Writer's League of Texas for four years and attendee of The Agent and Editor Conference. My most recent writing experiences range from contributions to Austin Wide Open and Real Simple Magazines; as well as, corporate communications to the publication of company Management Development and Training manuals over the past fifteen years. I attended the University of Texas and the University of Southern Colorado with degrees in English and Social Sciences, and Business Administration.
