When single mother Kristie moves her family into a seemingly normal Tampa home, she unearths a 1930s photograph of a woman who is her exact doppelgänger, awakening a dark history tied to her own tragic past. An unclosed Ouija board portal has trapped the apologetic spirit of her deceased childhood best friend in the ceiling to protect her teenage daughter, Vanya, but it also let in two malevolent entities that mercilessly terrorize her deeply anxious, autistic seven-year-old son, Devin. Fleeing the aggressive taunts of a sinister ghost, a desperate Devin is manipulated by a deceptive entity in his bedroom and lured into a terrifying dimension known as the Land Beyond the Closet. With the young boy swallowed completely by the shadowy abyss, Kristie and Vanya must brave the paranormal horrors of their own home to rescue him.
