For fans of Alessa Thorn's Mercenary and Magic series and Naughty Dog's Uncharted games.
Rise of the Shadow is the first book in The Shadow Series, an action-filled contemporary fantasy with hidden magic, found family, morally grey characters and a steamy enemies-to-lovers romance.
For eight years Caeli had been on the run. For eight years she had been hunting treasure and making a reputation alongside her partner in crime, Vincent Sinclair. For eight sweet years nothing had changed. Until they came across Hunter Black.
Maybe it was mere coincidence that they stumbled upon a clue that could lead them to the Lost City of Gold the same day they stumbled upon him. If you asked Vincent he would say it was good fortune, but Caeli knows better than to trust fate.
All Caeli wants is the gold of Paititi for her and Vince, to have enough money to hide for the rest of their lives and get away safely to do so. But their hunt attracts the attention of an order of assassins, and her choices keep forcing her towards the darkness she had tried to run from.
Forcing her to wake a magic that the world has long forgotten. A magic of death, darkness and shadows.
And Hunter seems to have everything to do with it.
'Rise of the Shadow'is a new adult fantasy romance that contains swearing, graphic violence, sex scenes (from book 2) and more. Please check the trigger warnings before reading.
