Every saint has a shadow... and in this family, it's written into the will.
In Belle Chérie, Louisiana, the Delacroix-Baptiste family are seen as saints: polished, powerful, and untouchable. But behind the manicured lawns and campaign speeches, secrets run deep-secrets that could shatter everything.
When Charles Baptiste returns home after a year in Atlanta, he brings more than new habits and hidden desires. He carries the weight of a family legacy built on lies, ambition, and silence. His father, Nicholas, is a rising political figure groomed by the influential Martin Delacroix. His mother, Isabel, guards truths that could ruin them all. And his aunt Margaux, the scandalous outlier, threatens to unravel generations of buried trauma.
As the family gathers for a glittering campaign gala, appearances begin to crack. Every whispered rumor, every slip of the tongue, every forbidden desire brings the Delacroix-Baptiste dynasty closer to collapse. At the center of it all is Charles, torn between who he was raised to be and who he is becoming.
A Southern Gothic drama pulsing with elegance and grit, Sainthood is a story of generational secrets, political corruption, and the fragile line between public virtue and private sin. Perfect for fans of Succession, Euphoria, and Queen Sugar, this debut novel peels back the layers of a family who built their empire on the illusion of sainthood-and what happens when the truth refuses to stay buried.
