About

Searching For Fire is a long creative work written over decades that provides the reader with historical and personal depth. The work includes literary poetry, spiritual reflection, and meditative nature writing. Searching For Fire uses multiple modes: poetry, prose poetry, spiritual allegory, occasional short narrative pieces, and character sketches, adding texture and philosophical perspective. It reflects every persons search for love, beauty, peace and endurance, the simple pleasures and joys of life, amid the struggles of daily routines, the mundane, the challenges and tragedies we all must deal with. It speaks of tedium and spirituality, both present in our daily existence. Poetry speaks for itself, speaks to the individual who reads it, experiences it and comprehends it for themselves. Themes for contemplation include: The immanence of the divine, revealed through the cycle of life and death itself. Its presence and indwelling in all humanity. The coexistence of opposites and polarities: the paradoxical is always present. The cycle of life and death, the creative and dissolution inherent in all existence. The inevitability and immanence of death vs. the joys and beauty of embracing our mortality and our humanity. The transitory nature of all existence yet the presence of the eternal in every moment. Searching For Fire is an exploration of the long path and endless search for the Mystery of life, for answers to our lifelong questions, while the revelations of life stand always immediately before us. Mystery permeates all existence, the miraculous always present. We seek the fire of revelation.
