FBI Special Agent Declan 'Deke' O' Brien has hit rock bottom. His wife Catherine divorced him after their son Patrick was severely brain injured in a playground accident when Deke was supposed to be watching him. He chose the bottle and its false promises over all the pain he's experienced in his life and career. But, will Deke get a second chance? After his release from an alcohol rehabilitation program, a series of sadistic murders, all with sexual undertones unfolds at the hands of the aptly monikored "Movie Theatre Killer." An ace profiler, Deke has been instrumental in capturing several serial killers, some of the worst in the annals of horror. Can he win the battle of wits against a super-evil mind that is always one jump ahead? Can he cut it when his family and colleagues become the monster's targets? Greg Byrn's powerful thriller Second Chance probes the mind of a malignant psychopath and the demons even within those who protect us from evil. Thomas Harris' Hannibal Lecter seems never far away.
