An orcish bounty hunter from the crumbling capital of an impoverished province, Rex attempts to escape the pain of his past through his penchant for travel and thirst for adventure. He finds both in abundance when Jon Waterbottom, a close friend haunted by the loss of his wife, hires Celia, a half blood on the run from a trafficking organization to work as a waitress in his diner. Enlisted by the demands of his conscience, against his better judgment, Rex sets out to hunt the apex predator leading the organization, lurking in the shadows, who is determined to capture then sell Celia, as well as many other young women like her, into slavery.
