What happens when you know something is wrong with your child-but you can't prove it? You notice the small changes. You ask questions. You attend appointments, follow recommendations, and try to trust the reassurance you are given. But the symptoms continue, the explanations do not quite fit, and you are left carrying a growing certainty that something is being missed. In Something Isn't Right, Nancy Bacon shares her family's journey through medical uncertainty, fragmented care, missed diagnoses, and the exhausting work of learning how to be heard. Part memoir and part practical guide, this book explores what it means to advocate for a child without pretending to have all the answers. It examines dismissal and doubt, second opinions and difficult decisions, the value of good clinicians, and the complicated relationship between parental knowledge and medical expertise. This is not a book about distrusting doctors or assuming that every concern points to a hidden diagnosis. It is about learning to ask better questions, recognize when reassurance no longer matches reality, and remain open to both uncertainty and hope. For any parent who has ever thought, Something Isn't Right, these pages offer language, practical tools, and the reminder that you do not have to navigate the unknown alone.
