Spawn's Suffering

I thought she hated my guts. I was right--and yet she's still returned.Long ago, Melissa Cook and I were together. It ended dramatically.I wasn't ready for her.She wasn't ready for me.We parted not just on bad terms, but irreconcilable ones. I had no reason to believe she would ever want me again. And yet...For some reason, she's come back. And when I see her, I don't recall the hate, the contempt, or the disgust.I recall the passionate flames of love.I recall the feeling of her being the one.I recall the certainty we'd figure it all out.And now, with a second chance, maybe we will.
