Debra's drink is spiked at a party, and she is abducted. In the race to find her, the police find plenty of suspects. There's her would-be boyfriend, and her sister's ex.: she has had a row with both of them. And as her parents are prominent in the community, there are plenty of people with grudges against the family. Fear and distrust taint every relationship. When at last she is returned to her family, Debra cannot identify her abductor, and her well-wishers realise that they must find and expose the person before any of them can begin to recover from the trauma. Sandra Glover has written another gripping story of mystery and suspense that will keep her readers guessing until the very last page. She can write with enormous conviction and power about teenage life, weaving a story with such subtle shifts and sudden turnings that it is impossible to second guess.
