This book is about the actions of certain remarkable people. What these notable people did to not only survive but thrive teaches us something about life, how in times of trouble people summon up courage. These are true stories about people galvanized by danger who thought out of the box and took actions varying from unique to off the charts. By doing these acts they gave us something today to marvel at. Whether we are inspired or disgusted by what they did we do see what human beings are capable of in times of stress. By attacking problems with careful calculations and not giving up each was able to turn the tide in their favor, or at least they did the right thing while adapting to the circumstances.Additionally, there are two chapters featuring Jesus Christ in the second half of the book. Jesus is different from anyone else by an infinite margin and so His accounts are not specific to one event; rather His sayings are recorded into an epistemological continuum. The Jesus factor plays a role in most people's lives even if they don't realize it because He impacted this world more than anyone else who ever walked the earth.
