Can a painting be a link between the present and the past?Forced to return to his ancestral home in the shadows of the Scottish Highlands, such ideas are far from Andrew Lambert's mind. His business has failed, his love life is a mess. When his friend invites him for a welcome-home drink, he accepts, and a car crash is the result. From this moment, Andrew's life is transformed. He locks himself away inside the confines of his family castle, shrouded in secrets and untold stories from the past, and discovers far more than he ever thought possible. These stories seduce Lambert's waking moments, control his dreams, and reveal to him the presence of a special, tantalizing woman: Lorna.Delving ever deeper into his family history, Lambert discovers the truth of what happened to his ancestors... and learns of the secret that has haunted the castle for centuries. Born on the Wirral, I live in Spain for the present, but my dream is to retire (Hah, what is that? Retire?) and live on a narrowboat along one of the many waterways around the Welsh border. I work as a teacher, a profession I've been in for almost 25 years, but writing is my first love.
