The collection of poems is a reflection of Rickey's life. From 1975 to 1979, nearly two million Cambodians were decimated by the horrendous Pol Pot regime. Those years of torture did not break but strengthened him. The rumdul flower's essence is floating in the air, conjuring his memories. These poems are his stories from childhood to manhood. It is his discovery of life while he was forced to relocate from country to country and camp to camp.
