History doesn't stand a chance. Jimmy never asked to be called the "Time Keeper." In fact, he doesn't even know what it means. One minute he's fumbling with a jerry-rigged time machine, the next he's crash-landing into the most dangerous night in American history-Ford's Theatre, 1865. All he wants is to survive. All history wants is for him to stop screwing things up. Unfortunately, Jimmy isn't alone. His best friend, Gary, is along for the ride-loyal, enthusiastic, and chronically unlucky. Between Gary's knack for getting captured and Jimmy's talent for tripping over his own feet, the fate of the timeline has never been in shakier hands. But their misadventure isn't limited to Earth's past. Beyond the chaos of Lincoln's assassination lies Jopulous--a strange and mythic city where a council whispers of destiny, battles rage in the shadows--and the title "Time Keeper" carries a weight Jimmy can't escape. The more he runs from it, the more the universe insists on pulling him deeper in. Fast-paced, hilarious, and unexpectedly epic, This Was a Bad Idea launches the Time Keeper's Saga with a blend of comic banter, historical danger, and mythic intrigue. Perfect for fans of Douglas Adams, Doctor Who, and anyone who's ever wondered what would happen if the fate of history rested in the hands of two guys who really, really shouldn't be in charge.
