Talk about a detour. All DEA Agent Malik Johnson wanted was to salvage his career with a high-stakes, undercover surveillance operation in a New York City hotel. All luxury restaurateur Blare Carrington wanted was to make it to the grand opening of her high-end Manhattan eatery in one piece after a dump truck pulverized her Bentley. Instead, a chaotic mix-up on a driverless "WayCool" rideshare app traps this mismatched duo in a locked, smoking, autonomous vehicle programmed for Baltimore, Maryland and it refuses to let them out.
As they rocket down the highway trading verbal blows, their forced road trip collides head-first with a sinister human trafficking operation at a deserted Maryland construction site. With Malik's badge, gun, and phone locked in the trunk, and Blare's cell phone dead, they are forced to rely on pure instinct. Meanwhile, back in New York, a scheming local opportunist named Tyrone JR.SR. has successfully stolen Malik's identity to live it up in his reserved luxury hotel suite accidentally taking over the DEA wiretap operation and making brilliant, drug-fueled tactical calls that have the agency hailed him as a genius. Packed with explosive action, laugh-out-loud dialogue, and a whirlwind of bizarre coincidences, this wild, high-octane thriller proves that sometimes, a complete technological breakdown is exactly what destiny ordered.
