When an asteroid strikes the moon, it shatters more than stone - it tears the boundary between the modern world and the realm of the fae.
In a dying desert town, teenage loner Morgan watches the heavens ignite through his childhood telescope as the world changes forever. In quick succession, technology fails, cities fall dark, and reality itself begins to fray. In the silence that follows, something ancient is already awake and hunting. Driven by the need to find his estranged sister Imogene and escape with his life, Morgan ventures into a landscape transformed by magic and ruin.
Imogene, torn from the safety of her adoptive parents by the claws of a monster, faces a world she no longer recognizes-and the brother she swore she'd never see again.
Forced together by fate and the death of everything familiar, the siblings must cross desert and wilderness, hunted by both monsters and men, to reach a hidden refuge buried deep in the Grand Canyon. But as they follow a mysterious guide who may not be what she seems, Morgan and Imogene begin to question what truly survived the fall of their world-and whether the light calling them forward is salvation... or something more sinister.
