About

As millions walk away from faith and countless others water down biblical truth to fit cultural preferences, pastor Aaron Graham exposes seven pervasive lies threatening Christian faith today and how to maintain authentic faith without compromising conviction.

Few people know exactly what to believe anymore. "Speak your truth" has overtaken "speak the Truth." Christians today find themselves torn between defending Christianity as an institution and reshaping biblical truth to fit cultural preferences. Both paths lead away from authentic faith.

Graham addresses common lies Christians are confronted with today such as:

• God is distant: When we embrace true worship and repentance, God draws near and transforms our hearts with His presence.
• Faith is private: Bold public witness flows naturally from authentic surrender to Christ, making our faith visible in every area of life.
• The Bible is outdated: Daily engagement with Scripture as God's living Word provides timeless wisdom and power for navigating modern challenges.
• Enemies must be canceled: Radical forgiveness and enemy love reveal the heart of Christ and break cycles of division that poison our culture.

Drawing from his experience as an urban pastor ministering at the intersection of faith and culture, Graham offers a better way forward: a path that holds fast to biblical truth while engaging the world with Christ-like love. Through practical wisdom and historic Christian practices, readers will discover how to discern truth from half-truth, maintain vibrant faith in a secular age, and become part of a new generation of believers who approach the world as Jesus did-with unwavering truth and unflinching love. Aaron Graham serves as founder and lead pastor of The District Church in the heart of our nation's capital. The District Church is committed to growing and multiplying leaders who have a heart for the city. Before moving to DC, Aaron started the Quincy Street Missional Church in a low-income neighborhood of Boston where he served for five years. He is a graduate of Harvard's Kennedy School and received his doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary. Aaron and his wife, Amy, are both pastors as well as adoption and foster care advocates. They are the founders of DC127, which partners with local churches to reverse the foster care waitlist, and Just Homes, which is committed to building affordable housing. They live in Columbia Heights with their two adopted kids Elijah and Natalie.
