The year is 1968 and the Virdean Queen of the Uplands has lost her promised consort, the Earth warrior Ivy d'Seille. While just a child, Ivy fought the Germans in France and later served in Korea and Indochina. Could he have been overpowered and kidnapped?
To find out, she sends two of her most trusted companions: Mamma LeDeoux, a woman of gears and flesh, renowned priestess macumba of the Santeria, and Rains-a-Lot, a Plains Indian most famous for killing Thomas Custer at Little Bighorn.
Together, they must navigate the bizarre world of the United States to find Ivy and return him to the lands of magic. It turns out not to be that simple. Against all odds, Ivy, who is renowned for his moral strength, has been enlisted by the immortal Cinnamon in a plot for a secretive dark lord. Is their goal to release nuclear annihilation on the Earth? To destroy the connection between the Earth and Virdea? To dominate the stream of magic?
The heroes must race against time to find out what is happening and save their friend Ivy from infamy.
