The sound of his pen scratching against the paper echoed in the empty room, a stark reminder of the void he felt within.With a sigh, he glanced out of the floor-to-ceiling windows and watched as the city buzzed with life below. His thoughts drifted to a time when he believed in love at first sight and soulmates. Was such a connection even possible in a world driven by schedules and spreadsheets? I was born in England, but have lived in Southern California for many years. I m now retired and live in the Pacific NW in a little seaside city amongst the giant redwoods and wonderful harbor, almost at the Oregon border. My husband and I have one cat, called Midnight and she is featured in two of my latest Sci-Fi short stories. I love Science Fiction, animals, and trying to help others.
