This book qualifies as an overall commentary and reference. Inside are lists of kings and rulers, archaeological references, commentary on various subjects from the Bible, chronology of the Bible as well as some chronology of non-Biblical events, explanations as to the calendars of the past and of different countries, and statistics. A variety of Biblical versions are given; the Masoretic as interpreted by Jewish publication societies, the Septuagint, the Latin Vulgate, the Samaritan Text, the Jewish version of the Masoretic, and of course, the authorized King James version of 1611, and all of these are given in their English translation so hopefully you won't need to know the different languages. When they disagree with one another, the attempt was made to show verses from each to compare. If you ever wondered about the different versions. The format is probably different from what people expect. The format follows the example set by James Ussher (translator for the authorized King James), using section and paragraphs instead of chapters. While it is possible to just read alone, having a Bible handy to compare is suggested.
