About

Ahmed is an Arab scrap dealer in the Holy Land, just like his grandfather who used to cart away the unwanted belongings of foreigners with his old horse wagon, yelling "Alte Sachen," that ancient Yiddish call for clutter.

Living in a land that has been conquered, occupied, and battled over for thousands of years, Ahmed's livelihood depends on the immigrants and everything they throw away. He secretly marvels at their foreign ways, until one day he find something that involves him more in their lives than he ever expected...

André Klein was born in Germany, grew up in Sweden and Thailand and currently lives in Israel. He has been teaching languages for more than 15 years and is the author of various short stories, picture books and non-fiction works in English and German.
