Beaten is a narrative of the travails of a young man from barely the moment he starts to fend for himself till a road accident claims his life. The main character, Acho, finds himself contending with choices, and the plot is woven around the complexity of the situations that confront him, and his consistent errors in judgment, leading to regrets and regrets. There is no doubt that nature, or existence, laughs at him and, at long last, only throws a fat bone at him knowing he would never live to enjoy the largesse. Set in the contemporary Nigerian society, such factors like migration, unemployment, disillusionment, and others are explored.
