Eternal Malaise

Eternal MalaiseWhen despair becomes a plague, survival is an act of defiance. The world has rotted into silence. Colourless, godless, and cruel - existence is nothing more than a slow, grinding ritual of suffering. The Malaise has hollowed out society from the inside, a virus that breaks the mind before it scars the flesh. Victims crack under its invisible weight, bleeding from wounds no weapon inflicted - or worse, descending into madness and violence.Hope is nearly extinct.Only the Baselines remain - a rare few immune to the sickness, tasked with holding what's left of the world together. But theirs is not a life of glory; it is a relentless, joyless burden. Among them are Fern and Leon - two haunted souls navigating crumbling streets and moral ambiguity, as they unravel cases that stretch the limits of sanity and soul.As the line between reality and nightmare dissolves, and the truth behind the Malaise becomes more horrifying than anyone expected, they must ask themselves: what is the cost of feeling in a world that punishes emotion?Eternal Malaise is a raw, philosophical dystopian tale of psychological decay, existential dread, and the last flickers of resistance in a dying world. For fans of True Detective, Silent Hill, and Children of Men, this debut invites you to stare into the abyss - and feel it stare back.
