About

“For the Love of Freedom” is a 2-volume set based on the life of Maria Parragh (née Ambrus), a lady born in 1935 in Redics, Hungary. After losing her mother when she was only 18 months old, Maria learned to grow up quickly. Her journey takes you through the Nazi years and Hungary's occupation by the Soviet Union in 1956.

Maria united with freedom fighters to plan an escape to Freedom. Finally, she boarded a Greek vessel that would sail her to Canada (her land of freedom), where her life begins.

Uniquely, her daughter tells Maria's story based on tales, history and relatives as she knew it. Her first-hand account, living the story, will impact you to the core... "let the truth be told".
