Like other little foxes, Hunter liked playing with toys, watching cartoons, reading books, coloring, and playing with his friends. He also liked swimming, soccer, baseball, basketball, martial arts, and video games. But he didn't LOVE doing any of these things. Until one morning, he saw something that caught his attention. A ballet in which dancers moved and leaped across the stage in colorful costumes. So, he tried dance. And he LOVED it. Though he sometimes got made fun of for being the only boy in his class, he kept dancing, studying and rehearsing. When he grew older he moved to New York and auditioned for Broadway...and got his first role. A fictionalized version of the true story of Hunter Mikles' life, Hunter the Dancing Fox is a playful and beautifully illustrated children's book that teaches young readers to do the thing that makes you happy just because you LOVE it! This book is a great resource for educators and parents who want to explore non-traditional careers and interests, self acceptance, bullying prevention and the pursuit of dreams with their students and children.
