Determination is a life skill that is necessary for children to learn to overcome challenges and accomplish goals and objectives in their lives. Determination allows children to persevere despite difficulties, adversity, and setbacks. And it helps children develop greater skills, learn from mistakes, and overcome obstacles.
Children need to learn that not one of us is perfect at anything when we start and that failing or not winning isn't the end of the world. However, getting back up and trying again is everything. Why? Because developing determination requires conquering one's fear of embarrassment, rejection, and pain.
