From the dirt roads of Afghanistan to the violent streets of American policing, and eventually into the high-pressure world of private security and entrepreneurship, Perseverance is the gripping true story of a man forged by adversity and driven by purpose.
Dustin Dobbyn enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at seventeen, where the realities of combat, sacrifice, and responsibility shaped him long before adulthood ever could. After leaving the military, he stepped into another battleground - law enforcement - serving as a patrol officer, detective, and tactical operator. He saw the best and worst of humanity, carrying the weight of decisions most people never have to face.
But the uniform was only the beginning.
When family, trauma, and circumstance forced a hard reset, Dustin rebuilt his life one mission at a time - becoming a private security contractor, working high-risk protection assignments, and ultimately launching a security company that would grow into a respected and rapidly expanding brand.
This isn't just a memoir.
It's a leadership manual written in blood, sweat, and setbacks.
In Perseverance, Dustin reveals the operator mindset that carried him through war, criminal investigations, personal loss, and the unforgiving world of starting a business from nothing. Through raw honesty and hard-earned lessons, he shows how discipline, courage, humility, and relentless adaptability can transform anyone into a stronger leader - at home, at work, and in the moments that matter most.
Today, as the CEO of a thriving security firm, Dustin proves that you don't have to come from privilege, connections, or perfection to succeed. You just have to refuse to quit.
Perseverance is the story of a Marine, a cop, a contractor, and an entrepreneur - but more importantly, it's a roadmap for anyone fighting battles of their own.
If you've ever wondered how ordinary people become unbreakable, this book will show you the mindset that makes it possible.
