About

Serve the Staff
Keys to Retention through Healthy Social Emotional Culture and Climate

With teacher retention being at an all-time low, retaining teachers is the number one priority. The hiring pool of teachers is full of uncertified and first year teachers. We are at an all-time high with international teachers as well.
It is time to review and refine our practices such that we consider what the teachers need so that we are not consistently in a hiring frenzy or an emergency situation.
What if we attended to the social emotional needs of our teachers just like we do our students. We need and love, honor and adore the work that they do. Do they know it? Do they feel it? Do they work like it?
There are some steps that we can take to retain our teachers and offer them a great teacher and teaching experience. The steps are simple, not necessarily easy. The outcome is worth it. The students need a well-rested, highly-valued, caring professional and that only happens if we do some investing.
SERVE the Staff. The KEY to retention of the best asset of great schools.

Serve the Staff.
